Last weekend we celebrated Steve finishing his book by going to a local Christmas fantasyland to get our tree, where Virginia ran into a friend from her class at school named Elijah. They were so cute together!! Anyway, this place had it all - trolley rides out to the fields, they hauled the tree back for you, then there was the Christmas cottage where there was hot chocolate and snacks, and even visits with Santa! Oh yeah, they had trees there too!

We dropped the tree at home and headed up to Woodstock for their annual Wassail weekend. We just missed the horse and carriage parade (not again!!!
)

but made it in time for the caroling around the bonfire on the green and the tree lighting, and another Christmas wonderland with ANOTHER visit with Santa.
(For video from Lisa, who who actually made it to the parade, click here). Woodstock was beautiful, especially with all the new snow around. It was a great day!
A day or so later we finally got around to decorating the tree (on our 2nd snow day of the school year - it’s gonna be a long one!) It turned out beautiful!

Merry Christmas, Everyone!!

Well, we thought getting 3 inches of snow at Thanksgiving was something! Then we woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow on December 3, which eventually piled up to 10 inches! It was beautiful, and definitely got us in the Christmas spirit, but I think we’re in for a long, cold winter!

Here’s some beautiful handblown glassware…
and some neat redware we saw
we just love this stuff!
Happy thanksgiving, everybody!
We did something very different this year, and spent the holiday at Fort at #4, a recreation of a colonial fort located about 20 minutes away. There’s a beautiful fort, and they serve an awesome feast for about 400 close friends.
And oh yeah, we had 3 inches of snow the day before to really set the mood!
See da pix!
Well, Virginia had her 6th brithday party last weekend, adn this year’s theme was “Barbie as Island Princess”, so all the girls had to come dressed for a luau. It was a blast, and they were adorable!

Welcome to the official website of the Snyder Family. We are so far away from all our friends and family that we needed a way to share pix of the kids and other special occasions.
While this site will never be complete, it is a good start. Check back periodically, as we’ll add new sections for special occasions, be updated as regularly as possible and at very least once a year!
I’ve finally udpated at least the 2006 stuff - thanks to everyone for their patience, and for actually returning occasionally to see if I’ve done anything!! There’s actually quite a lot in there - hope you enjoy.
Hello all, and welcome to our revamped Family site. Bear with us during (re)construction - hopefully it won’t last long, and we’ll have an easier way to keep things updated , and you’ll be able to interact with comments, and eventually online chat.
I’m going to play around with a few different designs until I find one that’s right - I’m really loving retro right now. Comments and opinions are welcome.
In the meantime, here are a few pictures from Halloween! Click on one for more…

Here’s a find - an actual post card, dated 1907, that features our house!
My dear friend Shirley Harlow was lucky enough to find this in a relative’s photo album. The 2 large trees in front of the house are gone, but the small tree in back is now one of our prize twin maples, and judging from its size here, they must be at least 150 years old.

On a lighter note, Steve and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary on December 2, 2005. And they said it wouldn’t last!

The reason we’re planted in front of the tv is the Colbert Report, on Comedy Central (right after the only OTHER show we watch - the Daily Show with Jon Stewart).
